Forests Ontario Forestry Connects program gives Ontario high school students a first hand look at what it’s like to work in forestry. Since 2010, Forests Ontario has taken over 170 students and teachers into Ontario’s forests to meet with foresters, operators, First Nations, and biologists to learn everything there is to know about growing and sustainably managing Ontario’s forests.

From visits to local mills and harvesting operations to lessons on local wildlife and the identification of different trees, they demonstrate the importance of forests to local communities, and the complexity of forest management and planning. By the end of the program, students should better understand the integral role forests play in cleaning our air and water, regulating Ontario’s climate, and creating products we rely on every day.

Please join Forests Ontario for this 2-day forestry education program being offered in Renfrew County on September 22 & 23, 2016! Cost is $75 per participant, register your students by filling out an application form here. Click here to view the event poster, and make sure to check out our website for more information here.
