Join us at the Cariboo Fire Centre for an outdoor, education-focused event celebrating forests and forestry in the Cariboo-Chilcotin. Children from Grades 1 to 6 are invited to learn about forestry practices, forest health issues, forest wildlife, forest firefighting, forest heritage, and other topics. There will be outdoor booths and displays from various government and private organisations including a helicopter, fire crews, and hosted interpretive trail tour in fuel managed woodland. Audience: Grades 1-6, 75 max elementary students per school

Location: Williams Lake Regional Airport – follow the signs posted on Airport Road.

Time and Dates: The event will be open between 9:00 am-4:30 pm on September 20 & 21 2016

Port-a-potties and drinking water will be available on site. Attendees should be prepared for all-weather conditions. Please bring adequate adult supervision (maximum seven children per adult). We anticipate that the activities will take approximately 2 hours onsite.

If possible, please liaise with other local schools in your area when requesting timeslots in order to help facilitate transportation logistics.
