Lower Ottawa Valley Chapter – National Forest Week Event, Ottawa, ON

Celebrate National Forest Week by learning how to identify the trees in your local parks and neighbourhoods!  All are welcome to enjoy a fun and educational afternoon to learn the basics of identifying trees and to get to know what lives in the natural areas in the City. This event is hosted by the Lower Ottawa Valley Chapter of the Ontario Woodlot Association, a group of local woodlot owners who will share their knowledge of tree ID gleaned from managing their own properties. If you have a question about a tree, bring a sample and try to stump the experts!

Join us at the Kanata Beaver pond between 2pm and 4pm for a tree ID primer and educational hike. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Parking is available in the small parking lot at the north end of Walden Dr. This is an outdoor event, so please dress for the weather and bring your tree ID books if you have any.
